Minidoka County Historical Society

MCHS is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Minidoka County history. Your donations keep us open.

The museum is home to the original Rupert Union Pacific Depot, built in 1906 and relocated to the museum in 1989.

Our research library includes the complete collections of The Rupert Record and The Minidoka County News. These two news publications chronicle Minidoka County's history from 1905 through 2008. Neither is available electronically yet, but with your support these newspapers will be digitized and made available through Rupert's DeMary Library and the Minidoka County Historical Society Museum.

Volunteer Opportunities

We need volunteers to help with the following projects:
  1. Raising funds for digitizing the Rupert Record and the Minidoka County News. Gary Schorzman's tireless efforts are making it possible to preserve our county history!
  2. We welcome all who have a a little time and interest in Minidoka County History. If you have a project in mind, please let us know! If not we do have several...

Contact Melissa Alley, secretary, by phone, (208) 436-0336, or email us if you would like to volunteer for one of these projects.
